Aunt Dora’s Walnut Ice Box Cookies

The walnuts my granddaughter and I found were whisked away...
By..
Our busy, busy Squirrels!

We made their lives easier...
Gathering their stow-away for winter...
We gathered more...
But...
This time we will try to sort the nuts...
Before...
Mr. and Mrs. Squirrels get them...
My mother had gathered an earlier harvest...
So...
As we were gathering more walnuts...
She was cracking hers...

Picking the nuts from the shells...

She gave me the cracked walnuts...
Only...
Because she Loves me ALOT!
The nuts are like precious gold nuggets to her....

The reason is...
Her Aunt Dora's Walnut Cookies...

How Blessed Are We...
For the Heritage given to us...
And...
The Heritage we can pass to our Future...

Have a Thankful Thanksgiving!

Blessings, Becky

  1. Yummmm! Am I slicing them after I take them out of the fridge? I’m guessing yes, but you didn’t say.

  2. Hi Becky,
It’s Sandy from Brownsburg again. I was over to see Peggy and her sweet Mom yesterday at The Corner Cottage. My hubby is having a knee replacement done the Tuesday after Thanksgiving so we will be grounded for awhile and this was the only chance we had for a visit. I had a nice long chat with Peggy. I told her about following your blog and how much I enjoyed it. She asked if I had ever met you and when I told her “no” she said maybe we could do something about it next Spring like maybe have lunch sometime. I would really enjoy doing that and having any opportunity to meet you in person. Until then I guess I will just continue to follow your sweet blog. Have a Happy Thanksgiving and a Blessed Christmas!!
    Warm Wishes, Sandy B
