Bohemian Style

 The year 1975

Where long hair was in...
Aviator glasses (ooops...granny glasses) were the rage...

(yes...kids...that is your father behind those Foster Grants...
no...he is not at Downton Abbey...
but...Harlaxton, England)

Hippie was the now Bo-Ho...

(A Corner Cottage now Jamie...)
And...
"I started singing, bye bye Miss American Pie..."

"You both kicked off your shoes...
man, I dig those rhythm and blues..."
Don Mclean... American Pie...
And...
me...(the long-haired...tortoise glasses...plaid wearing girl...)

when "blogging" meant hanging from rafters...
to take pictures with a black and white polaroid camera...

I love re-living the past in today's reality...
I grabbed two chairs from the barn...
Added roses...

Painted them Huckleberry and Pumpkin...
Caromal Colours Country Living Artisan Collection Paint...

The chairs' seats are covered with beautiful hand stitched pillow cases...
that my husband cut to fit...

1975 or 2013?????
Blessings, Becky

  2. Oh what a fun post! I was just about to graduate from high school in 1975! Crazy times indeed! Those chairs are so bright and pretty….but the lamps really caught my eye! How gorgeous and unique! I love them. Now I’ll be looking harder at pillows and pillow cases!

  3. These are great! So fun and colorful. And I love that the seats are covered in vintage pillowcases also. Stopping by from MMS. Have a great weekend! :)

I found your blog at Redoux. Oh wow, I love this make over. The colours, your use of appliques and that fabric. Love that armoire as well!

  9. What fun chairs! And a cute post – my DH had those same glasses in the 80s. Where did the pillowcases come from? They look like kantha quilts in the pictures.

I hope you’ll come see My Daughter’s Master Bath Redo! #83 at Met Monday.
